National Library Week is April 7-13, 2024. Ready, Set, Library!

First sponsored in 1958, National Library is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all kinds across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. The theme this year is “Ready, Set, Library!” How many different ways do you use your local library?

Each year a different person serves as the honorary chair. This year National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature and Newbery and Pura Belpré-award winning author Meg Medina was chosen. Each honorary chair identifies what makes libraries and librarians useful in their lives.
