TREASURE ISLAND is one of the most beloved works of adventure in English literature. The author of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Robert Louis Stevenson had literally invented the pirate story – even the famous “Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum” was written by him. Ever since its first publication in January of 1882, the book has never gone out of print, and was later made into over 50 film and TV productions. Theatre Junction PA is excited to bring you our take on this legendary story, mixing comedy with drama, light with darkness, and accompanied by live music performed by The Troubles! The performances will take place at the Majestic Theater in Pottsville, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Pottsville Free Public Library.
