The Pottsville Free Public Library continues the tradition of observing Dave Day at the end of May, and this year we’re doing more than ever to celebrate the late muralist Dave Naydock and artists in Schuylkill County. Current local artists will have their artwork on display in the Library all week. There will also be a special display of art by famous Schuylkill County artists George Luks and Nicholas Bervinchak, from the Library’s own collection.
On Wednesday, May 28th, we will have our popular Family Paint Night at 5:30 PM when families can create their own paintings on canvas to be displayed at the Library the rest of the week.
And on Thursday, May 29th, we will observe the birthday of late muralist Dave Naydock with his favorite kind of cookie: homemade chocolate chip! Join us as we celebrate his artwork and contribution to the Schuylkill County art scene, and the artists who continue to color our world. (Note: “Color Our World” is the summer reading theme, so this is a GREAT way to get a head start on the subject!)
