Free Comic Book Day at the Pottsville Library!

Join us on Saturday, May 6 at the Pottsville Free Public Library for free comic books and some fun comic-based activities! We will have comics for all ages, up to 2 per person, which you can take home to keep. What happens when kids are told that reading is only “for school” or only for tests? They stop reading because it’s no longer fun. Reading can help people build empathy toward others, engage their own creativity, and give them time away from screens. Comics are a great way for kids (and reluctant adults) to enjoy reading again and keep it fun.

Once you pick out your comic books, why not make your own superhero mask and cape, then draw yourself in your own action comic strip? There will also be coloring pages and a storywalk to enjoy while you are here.

And all of it is free! Comic books are provided by Comics and Paperbacks Plus in Palmyra, and have been paid for by the Friends of the Pottsville Library for our community to enjoy.
