Celebrating 100 Years of Bricks & Books

Join us on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 6-9 PM as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the original Pottsville Library building! Listen to music by the JRK Trio as you eat food provided by Beauregard Catering, and learn a bit more about this part of Pottsville’s downtown history.

Tickets are $50 per person and must be reserved by November 4, 2022. Stop by the Library to RSVP at the Circulation Desk, or order your tickets online through our Facebook event page.

Opened on May 1, 1922, and built with funding from the Carnegie Foundation and local philanthropists Henry, Arthur and Louise Sheafer, the main room still features the same fireplace, wooden book shelves along the walls, grand staircase, and high arched windows. You can learn more about the history of the Pottsville Library on our “About” page.
