Using your library CARD...


What you can borrow


Adult and juvenile fiction and non-fiction books and educational toys may be borrowed for a 3 week period. The Library's holdings include 25,101 juvenile books, 74,214 adult fiction and non-fiction books.  Books on tape, books on CD, and compact discs may be borrowed for two weeks.  The library has 2,159 books on tape titles, 330 books on CD, and 1,307 compact discs.

Periodicals (except the latest issue of a magazine), pamphlets, and art slides may be borrowed for one week. The Library subscribes to approximately 200 periodicals.

Videocassettes may be borrowed for one week.  The Library's videotape collections contain 1,540 educational videos and 1,588 entertainment videos, including a wide selection of children's videos.

The library also has a collection of 576 DVD titles.  Entertainment DVDs may be borrowed for two days.  Educational DVDs may be borrowed for one week.

Equipment may be borrowed for a 24 hour period. The Library lends closed caption decoders and Polaroid cameras.

Holiday materials may be borrowed for one week during the holiday season.

Best sellers may be borrowed for 2 weeks.


Renewals
Items may be renewed by coming into the library or calling the Circulation Desk at (570) 622-8880.  You may also renew through the online catalog.  Go to "Borrower Detail" and type in your barcode number from your borrower's card.  (You do not need a PIN number.)

DVDs and any item which is on reserve for another patron may not be renewed.


Reserves
If an item is out in circulation, it may be reserved and you will be called when it is returned. If there are other reserves on an item, your name will be placed on the waiting list and you will be called when your turn comes.  You may also place a reserve through the online catalog,  using your barcode number from your borrower's card.


Patron suggestions
If there is a new item you would like the Library to consider adding to its collection, please request and complete a "Patron Suggestion" form from the circulation desk, or email the Circulation Desk at potcirc@iu29.org.


Fines
Books, records, kits, educational toys - $.10 a day up to a maximum of $10.00.

Books on Tape, Books on CD, best sellers, compact discs - $.50 a day to maximum of $10.00
Interlibrary loan material - $.50 a day to maximum of $10.00, plus possible additional fines and fees )as charged by the loaning library).
Videocassettes, DVDs, and CD-ROM software - $2.00 a day up to a maximum of $10.00.


Lost cards
A replacement for a lost card can be purchased for $1.00.
