Winter Programs for Kids & Teens
Call us at 622-8880 to register for programs. All programs are free.
Weekly Programs
Laptime
Laptime is for toddlers (12-36 months) and their caregivers.
We’ll sing songs, share stories and do
simple crafts every Wednesday at 11 am
February 13-April 16.
Registration is Required.
Storytime
Come help us celebrate children and books as we read stories, sing songs, watch movies, act out rhymes and do fun crafts with a
different theme each week!
Storytime is for children 3-5 years old. We’ll meet every
Monday at 10 am February 11-April 14.
Registration is Required.
Family Night
Can’t make it to Storytime on Monday morning? That’s OK, join us for Family Night every Monday at 6 pm February 11-April 14. Family Night is for children ages 3 and up and their caregivers.
Registration is Required.
Homework Room
Need a quiet place to do your homework? Come to the library! We’ve got a spot for you. The homework room is open to
everyone, no registration required. The homework room closes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday nights and on the nights of special
programming.Monthly Programs
Teen Advisory Board
Make your voice heard! Here’s your chance to tell the librarians at the Pottsville Free Public Library what you really want. Join the Teen Advisory Board and you can have a say in what kinds of programs we provide and what kinds of books/DVDs/CDs we purchase. This is your library, make sure we get it right!
The TAB is open to those in 6th Grade and up. We’ll meet February-April at 6 pm the first Wednesday of the month.
Registration is Required.
Special Programs
Saturday Crafts
Join us on Saturdays in the month of February any time from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to make a craft in the children’s room! We’ll have all the materials needed to make a different craft each week. Come in and get creative! This program is open to all ages. No registration required.
“Cook Up Some Fun”
Come to the library Thursday, March 6 at 6 p.m. to make some tasty treats at this “no cooking” cooking class. We’ll have fun recipes that taste great and don’t require any baking, boiling or heating of any kind. All great chefs have to start somewhere, why not start at the Pottsville Free Public Library! Don’t forget to check out our large collection of cookbooks for kids while you’re here. This program is for those 8 years old and up. Registration is required.Library Scavenger Hunt
Can you follow the clues and get to the prize? Come in to the library any time 3:30 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15 to put your wits to the test. You’ll get your first clue at the children’s desk and it will give you a hint where you can find the second. Keep following the hints, find all the clues, and you’ll get a prize. Good luck! We have hunts for preschoolers through 8th graders. Registration is Required. You don’t have to sign up for a specific time.
Winter Reading Club
Winter is a great time to dream, explore and grow at the library. Come in this January to sign up for the
Pottsville Public Library’sWinter Reading Club!
You’ll get your reading log when you sign up. Just keep track of the books you read and hand in your log by April 13. You’ll be in a drawing for some great prizes!
The Winter Reading Club is open to kids 3 years old and up. Don’t miss out on winter
